State police say that 24-year-old Chester County-native Kelsey Lefever — a well-known horse trainer and former Devon Horse Show competitor — promised owners she could find good homes for their horses when they could no longer race, according to the paper.
Dr. Ray and Connie Krueger were on a mission to help Haitians affected by the cholera outbreak – both bodily and spiritually. Ray, a doctor at Olmsted Medical Center in Spring Valley, and Connie, a dental assistant with The Salvation Army in Rochester and former OB nurse, recently returned from a mission trip to Haiti, helping those sick with cholera, through the organization Samaritan’s Purse.
“It is a classic takeout establishment with limited seating, but there always seems to be a few people dining in,” a reader emailed. “They did a nice job remodeling the location, everything is updated and looks good. I’ve only had the Kung Pao Chicken so far, but it is really good.”
The Spring Valley Historical Society will hold its annual Christmas house tours, which are slated for this weekend, Dec. 3 and 4. The two Spring Valley homes that will be open for visitors this year are owned by Joe and Rita Bezdicek at 101 West Northridge Lane and Leland and Anne Kappers at 533 Warren Avenue.
The Spring Valley City Council, meeting Monday, Oct. 10, approved revoking A&F Consulting’s RLF loan, per the EDA’s request. Last spring, the council had approved putting the $50,000 loan, which was approved last November by the council and EDA, on hold.
